NWO is keen to promote orienteering in schools and among youth groups. The club has links with Schools Sports Partnerships in Swindon and northern Wiltshire and with Wiltshire Alternative Youth Sports (WAYS). We have organised annual Schools Orienteering Festivals for many years. Current venues include Swindon, Chippenham and Devizes. The club has helped junior members wishing to do orienteering as part of the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.
The British Orienteering Federation can organise accredited courses for teachers. Local teachers intending to introduce orienteering into their school have attended this course.
